Charcoal Density Comparisons 

 

1 Kg of charcoal briquettes:

Charcoal briquettes consist of charcoal and a binder. This makes a dense product that does not burn as hot as lumpwood charcoal.

1 Kg of imported lumpwood charcoal:

Imported lumpwood charcoal is usually more dense than English charcoal, a charcteristic that makes it slower to reach cooking temperature.


1 Kg of English charcoal:

English charcoal: less dense and able to reach cooking temperature most quickly. Only 800 grams can be placed in the weigh tray.
